just a few questions

Are there any SE's that come with the original controllers? I don't particularly like the wheel. If so, which ones?

Also, based on what I've read, I've come under the impression that the SE's will work fine for what I intend to do. This being putting a 3.8 motor for maximum torque and top speed, two standard size batteries for maximum playtime, and the 7/7 mod for maximum steering. Am I correct in my assumption, or should I reconsider the original ZZ's, or perhaps even another model? Also, are there any better alternatives to the things I want to do?

Thanks in advance,
Eric.

I don't think they come that way. SE's have semi-proportional steering, which needs the wheel in order to make it's clicks. The original Zips have either on or off steering using magnets. I suppose if you have the will, and knowlege, you could mod the controller to work how you want it to. A good compromise would be to use the Car's or Transformer chassis Zips. IMO, these are the best Zips that have come out yet. They're faster, able to use the lights, and the controllers have the nicest feel.

Newer SEs disn't need the 7/7 mod. Unless you have some SEs that need the mod, I wouldn't worry about it.
As to longer runtime, I'm not sure standard batteries are the answer due to weight. What size were you considering? Another option if cost isn't a factor, would be LiPos, and a good charger.
