SUPER S 2.2 (s=slow)

hello,
well i just got my new Bit Char-G and i am pshyced! i got the new Auto Modellista set and the cars are cool! anyhoo i was surprised how slow the 2.2 is. i heard that tthe 1.0 was slow.. i get the heeby jeebies wondering how slow that thing is. yea so i tried out the boost and DOOD that things sweet! its like nOS i swear! well the normal mode is just too slow so i was wondering what new motor i should get? i hear 2.6 is descent, the 3.0 is fast but lots of problems, and 3.8 is fast w/o much problem. i am just wondering which one i should get 2.6 or 3.8. is there even a dramatic speed difference between 2.2 and 2.6? thanks for help guys. my first post! heh noob. :D . oh yea and what mods should i do?

The 2.6 engine is my favorite track racing engine, I think it may be just my car but my FD never spins, rarely ever flips and can take S turns on a 2 lane lego track at full throttle without hitting. My friend has a 2.2 which accelerates faster but spins, and he cant match me on the track.
I am quite a bit disappointed in the 3.8 engine's complete lack of torque. It takes off really slow and my 2.6 can easily out accelerate it. However it seems to have a better top speed, 3.8 engine is good for a long 15 foot drag racing but it isnt good for tabletops( It never reaches top speed, and is slower than 2.6 engine ). It also tends to flip when i try to turn at top speed. I really hope a dual battery mod can fix its lack of torque.
For mods I'm not too sure what is a good suspension/tire/gear ratio/engine setup for track and what is a good one for drag. I am running stock tires and haven't tried changing the suspension but i do have the kit.

I have a 3.8 and a 2.2. The 3.8 rocks! It's so fast in a booster car! With the boost off it is like a 1.6 (I am guessing I have a 1.0 and 2.2) with less torque. It's worth buying one just to see how quick it is! You need a fair amount of room. I have two 8' long straights on my track. With 12:1 gearing I can reach top speed. It looks like it's gonna take off! You can buy 3.8s at this site. That's what I am using now. Oh, keep in mind your going to drain your battery fast. You might want to get a 150 mah.

wow thanks for the help guys. yea i think i might wanna stick with a 2.6. hey delmonk wherdja get those rims? i wanna get some rims they look really sexy! haha

I think some of the microsizer rims are gold colored. Either u can use those or paint them gold. What I did was cut 4 spokes out of the black 8 spoke rim then painted it gold. Also I heard u can use zip zap rims from the zip zap performance upgrade kit. U can also paint those too. There are also really cool rims u can buy but it seems u can only get them off some german site (which i dont understand ).

booster machines have a slower non boost speed.
a car with 2.2 no boost is faster than a boost with 2.2 but not boosting

run as slow as a 1.6 when boost is off?

Yes. It's about that slow.
