How do you keep from overdischarging Li-Ions?

How do you tell when to stop and recharge when using Li-Ion batteries? I was going to order the pro-kit 2 cell lithium kit with the charger from atomicmods but I dont want to ruin them the first time I use them by over draining them. I see that some places sell protection boards to cut off the power at a certain voltage, but I'm trying to save weight over my 6 cell, not put more stuff on and make the car nearly as heavy.

if I'm not mistaken they have the board on them and weigh no where near a 6 cell mod but you do need a lipo charger.

Since it is from automic mods, I would ask them if they're charger charges until the battery is full and stops or starts a trickle charge. If so, you should be set.
