my xmod is a vacum cleaner?
after using my xmod for a while i take the shell off, and find loads of dust and stuff up inside the steering and the gears also in the space between the wheels and the knuckles, why is this? is it static off somthing or the air going up under neath the car
is there any way of stoppingf this? |
im almost sure that its the static build up just from running the car... not really sure that there is a way to stop it... just make sure you regularly clean the chassis... i tend to clean it every set of batteries i put in it... or after im done running my car... if you figure a way to stop the build-up let us all know...

Using liquid lubricants (WD-40, silicon spray, etc) will help collect dust. I find the easiest way to keep things clean is to clean the surface you'll be running on before hand. A quick run with a swiffer helps. Sometimes you just have to disassemble things and give it a good cleaning.

you get carpet strings and stuff stuck on the axle shafts?... i hate that...

the worst is when you get strands of hair wraped round the driveshaft and clumps of dust sticking to the grease.
the instructions that come with the awd say dont grease the gears if you plan on using your xmod outside, because of grit and dirt getting in there. its just as bad indoors. |
Wish: I wish on the 3rd Gen Xmod (if they make another) that they take the time to redesign the Xmod. The first version was their first so it was a beginning so that's okay. Then the second one comes out in a hurry, I heard they were supposed to introduce them later in the spring during the talk of these models coming in. They brought them out sooner so they could hit the christmas list, they even had problems with the knuckles so they included replacements. I don't know these things are very good cars for speed but they are always having problems with the cars, if it isn't the steering it's the drivetrain. hmmm, i'd like some dispute here.:D :D :D

I've seen people put a strip of swiffer pad under their front bumper to collect dust. Might be worth a try.

never used swiffer... but if that stuff works that'd work good under the firebirds front bumper... has a lil air dam thing on it... maybe i might try that when i drive it at work...

I wonder if you could put a big piece under the car, like on the battery cover? I don't know how thick it is, so I wonder if it'd interfere with ground clearance.
