i know that it is possible to have six AAA cells in an xmod but could you connect one AA or 2 AA? Or will it fry the circuits? Thanks

A AA and AAA battery have the same voltage. The difference is in the amount of stored energy they have. AA's, being larger, have a larger capacity. Adding them to an xmod wouldn't change anything.

so a high end AAA NiMH battery... say 1200mAh... would be better than a low end AA NiMH battery... assuming close to 1200mAh rating...

am i correct... cuz the AAA would be lighter... and the only difference between AA and AAA is how long they can hold that voltage...

am I close or am i way off in right field?

You're right, though the mah ratings can be misleading depending on how a company measures it. It stands for milli-amp hours which means how long a battery can supply 1 milliamp. This does give some sense as to the capacity of the battery, but if you draw, say, 1 amp instead of 1 milliamp, that measurement doesn't necessarily apply anymore.

Some 800mah AAA's will be able to supply 1 amp of current longer than some 900mah batteries. How long they maintain a given voltage is also characteristic of individual batteries. Some will sustain higher than others. The voltage always decreases as you use them, but how that voltage decreases is different among all of them.

The worst nimh AA's I've seen are about 1800mah, with most being around 2000-2400mah. AAA's range from 700-1000 mostly.

well i just picked up 12 aaa batteries that are rated at 1200mAh for 20 dollars on ebay... we'll see how they go... hopefully i will be satisfied with them... ::crosses fingers::
