Before i had nickel cadium batteries. lasted about 10 min. i think. Now i have nickel metal hybrid batteries. they last a long time, maybe 35 min. but dont know how long exactly. can i know how long nickel cadium and nickel metal hybrid batteries last approx. according to there milliamps?And how much do command logic lights affect the battery life in min?

well nickel metal hydride batteries have 3 times the capacity in milliamps and there for about 3 times the run time depending on the battery.cammand logic lights are LEDs and take a small amount of current so they shouldnt affect your run time to much, as for exact minutes i dont kno.

Run time will always be an estimate. Just know that more mah=longer run time. Too many variables involved to tell you exactly how long it will last.

First off, the ratings of batteries are not milli amps, it is milli amp hours. Batteries are tested to see how long they can produce 1 milli amp of current. This rating is an indication of the capacity of the battery but not exact.

Some batteries with lower ratings will be able to supply 1 amp of current for longer. I use assia 1150mah batteries, quite good for cheap ones found on ebay, and they last about as long as my 1000mah energizers while being able to handle the current my 15min charger dishes out. The radioshack ones that I have do very poorly.

Most people prefer Ni-mh simply because it can be charged more often and does not have nearly as much of a problem with "memory effects" found in Ni-cd.

All-in-all, I prefer ni-mh, but they are always a chance when buying them unless you're paying for the name brands. The cheaper imported ones are hit and miss, but sometimes worth the saved money.

is it positively sure that you wont burn fets if you use 5 1.2 volt nimh batteries. it should give out 6 volts.

yeah u can run up to 6 cells without problems.6 volts is the same as u would get running alkaline anyways.

Voltage (function of batteries) doesn't blow FETs. Amps (function of motor) blow FETs. Voltage blows entire circuit boards.

Since Evos and gen1s use the same number of the same type of batteries, it follows that they use the same voltage.

Remember though Rez, increasing the voltage will increase the current going to the motor via Ohms law. They are a function of each other.

My power dash motor did not fry FETs with 4 batteries, but did with 6. I understand what you're trying to say, but I don't believe it can be simplified that much.

Increasing the number of cells limits what motors you can choose, and vice versa.

6 cells work with either generation with stage II and some slightly higher rpm motors.

so if i used my 6-cell mod, and i had a stage 1 motor would i fry the motor? what would happen to my FETs with that much power?

Absolutely nothing. 6-cells and a stage II won't even give you a problem. Your FETs will be fine. Your motor will be fine too.
