Custom Rydz.. yur opinion???
short version is, my 2 xmods (both gen 1 acuras) have bit the bullet. so i cruised on down to circuit city to see what was in store, when i came across a car ive never heard about before. Custom rydz?? so i picked up a BMW-M3 and the manager threw in one off the shelve ( a sweet looking Dodge Daytona) that was missing the controler for free :)
anyways, ive searched the net in vain for some information on them and found nothing, besides a guy on this forum saying they suck, haha! but yeah, they dont seem to bad, id say theyre a little more durable than an xmod right out of the box. they come 4-wheel drive, go just about as fast as an xmod also, and you can get upgrades just like an xmod. so yeah, what do peeps know of them??? |
I haven't heard much about them myself. Perhaps you could start getting some information out. I know I would really appreciate some pictures of what is under the body of those cars. I'm always looking for new things to modify.

couple pix to look at. again, not much to them and not very nice on the eyes but they work none the less. man, ive been looking at the xmod evo and damm, i want one. nice and simple design, clean looking..
hurry the freak up circuit city??? lol http://show.imagehosting.us/show/163...-1_1630558.JPG http://show.imagehosting.us/show/163...-1_1630562.JPG http://show.imagehosting.us/show/163...-1_1630581.JPG http://show.imagehosting.us/show/163...-1_1630564.JPG |
those look pretty nice, are the axles independent suspension or solid axle? i mean, those axles are small enough to use for a scale build....that what ive dream for since i got into micro R/Cs. a 1/28 4x4 scaler!! are they 1/28?? oh, and they are central motor, SWEET!! even more capable for off-road!! does it have an off-road upgrade?? i just saw some very "steel-able" axles right there...and probably a cheap, wicked fast rally car. LOL!

yo dood, theyre 1/24 scale, so finding a body isnt hard at all.. lol!
|
those look like xmod chassis
those cant be much more expensive. how much did you pick them up for? |
musclecars4life, Since you are new to the forums, I would like to request that you keep your posts written more legibly.
There are a lot of good people at this site with a lot of good information. Writing like a fool really doesn't motivate any of them to help you. Why should we take the time to write out a good response for you when you can't even take a few seconds to write in correct english. |
sorry i was just trying to keep the post short and to the point
|
Those do look nice. I like the suspension all together. It seems to be very nice to me. I like the idea of the motor being centered as well for better stability for offroad and also high speed center balance around turns. Maybe some more research into this could yeild more information to provide for the forum.
Ok it looks like people are saying this is a Xmod knock off but at 1/24 scale. Here is a link to the Circuit City site with some of them on it and accessories. http://www.thesourcecc.com/estore/ca...genum=1&sort=1 Maybe I can look into getting a few of them. I also found that another website was speaking about them in their forums as well and mentioned a similar knockoff at Wal-mart that has several parts and things as well. I will let you know what I come up with. |
Definitly keep us updated on the Walmart thing sounds interesting.... i dont own a custom ryde but my friend does and he let me drive it for 2 seconds and i loved it :). If they had better and more bodies i would definitly buy one, but it has good tourqe and good handling. It is a fun car!
|
70 dollars for a starter kit seems a little expensive... but then it does start out with awd? if i read that correctly... still thats only 15 dollars extra when you pick up an xmod... they do look interesting tho... wonder what the walmart cars will be like... and if they will be cheaper to buy...
|
Well those prices are in Canadian Dollars, so I think they're about the same price as Xmods in American Dollars.
And I find it hilarious that their off-road kit has a Dodge Ram Daytona body.... |
