hehe i know that looked familier from mrcc lol

this project looks great this is gonna be an ausome crawler. one question, hows the suspesion gonna work, or or you not having one.

RCdabbler 08-28-2006 12:57 PM

I'll have to make a 3 link or 4 link suspension but I havnt decided on using some of the links as the springs also or just using coil springs and common links together.

Azimov 08-28-2006 02:35 PM

Oh yes, very very nice indeed! Keep it up and let us see them pics as you go. Great stuff!

silentracer 08-28-2006 02:53 PM

well im not to suspension savy so i'm not sure to much of what u said. but one more question u said u were using xmod universals, but there is nothing like that on my evo, where'd u get those?

RCdabbler 08-28-2006 02:59 PM

ahh, those are the first gen Xmod combo u-joint dogbone axles.I have a lot of those lating around here it seems.lol

RCdabbler 08-29-2006 04:42 AM

Thanks lumber.

I'm trying to make it as well as I can and its more of a proto type.

Michael.mt2k 08-29-2006 07:15 AM

Great stuff!!

RCdabbler 08-29-2006 08:38 AM

Thanks guys, I'm not sure but this may have been done already(IDK).There have been so many ZZmt projects.

pain899 09-10-2006 10:31 PM

thats kinda kool buts its OLD SKOOL for me

RCdabbler 09-11-2006 04:54 AM

yeah its nothing special until the chassis gets made for it then it will be AWSOME.(I'm sure it will look better than it performs-LOL)

I still need to make the T-case but I havnt decided on a few things, like should I have the chassis wrap around the T-case or be part of it and I need to work on the dual motor mount.

The chassis itself should be very easy to make, I just have to drill and cut some openings in an aluminum sheet and I should have a chassis that looks like a detailed (albeit square) tube frame.(simple)

here is something I had worked on years ago, it was a prototype chassis for a ZZ/bit.

Hmm, vertically mounted batteries.

That is thought-provoking to be sure!
Maybe I'll try to incorporate that idea into my articulation mod when I do it.

THAT'S why I love this site.

Thank you for posting those pics. It's stuff like that that keeps the mental gears turning. (pardon the pun.)

RCdabbler 09-28-2006 05:05 AM

That chassis was designed before LI-po's were so popular but now I'd just plant to use Li-po's.(more power-less space=good)

I have a lot of idea's like a CF rod chassis with the front and rear suspension clamped onto the CF rods.It could be a simple adjustable wheelbase chassis if done right.
