Cold Heat Soldering tool

Hi does anyone here use the Cold Heat Soldering tool that uses battery? just wondering if its really as good as advertised...I haven't soldered anything since highschool...so I am thinking of getting a simple setup for mods...

I had one... I didn't think it worked that well. The tip broke right away too... and those are $10 to replace. I'm sticking to the regular pencils.

I don't think it's worth it.

for general use, they're ok. for precision stuff, don't bother.

Mirco rc stuff, you'll be happier with a nice pencil iron, preferably with temp control.

I realize this is your first post Sentry. This thread is more than 4 months old by now and the thread starter got the information he needed to answer his question.

It's not a huge deal, but we don't like old threads being bumped, so please let them be. I'm locking this down.
