Problem mounting on tires and hubcaps

1 Attachment(s)
Hi was experimenting with different tires and wheel widths and am having some problems...first I noticed that some tires have one end that has a smaller diameter and when I try to put those on...the tire doesnt go on right...i have attached a photo to illustrate this...am I mounting it on wrongly or is that normal? I have also mounted the tire the other way around and still its uneven.

Also...I tried using the wider wheel attachment on my SE chassis and it caused steering problems as the front tires were scraping against the chassis and car body...so I managed to only use wide wheels on the back...what do most of you do in this situation?

the tire with the smaller diameter looks to me like it came off a clone, or Wallmart special... was the tire in a new car kit, or a tire kit add-on? It's possible somebody returned the thing with the wrong tires in it.

As for the shape problems, you'll get that. ZZ wheels, tires, and hubs are sketchy at best. In the past, I've had to sand the wheels with the hubs on to make them even. I've even put the things on my Dremmel and turned them like a lathe, but that might be a bit much for some.

The tires were in the custom tire kit I got from Radio Shack...I hope I didnt get someones return...can some one please confirm this...does the kit have few tires that have a smaller inner diameter on one side of the tire(yup, the other side is normal)?

Microsizers

Will microsizers parts like motors and wheels fit on Zipzaps?

Other folks will be more qualified than I for replying about the MicroSizer parts, but those tires with the smaller inner diameter are definately *not* Radio Shack tires... looks to me like you unfortunately purchased someone else's (mispackaged) return.

As far as the wider rims, they are only supposed to be used in the rear, although I've read about other folks trimming the front wheel wells of the bodys a bit to accomidate the wider tires/wheels in front.

Tire and wheel kit

I check it out online and saw someone on ebay selling the same zz custom tire and wheel kit...and compared it to those in the photos...they all seem to match...all down to the tire threads...

Here's the link to that ebay page with the wheel kit...

anyway are there any other toy cars out there which tires can be used on the zzse and the zzmts?

I tried those tires again and got tired of them so I just took a pair of precision curved scissors and trimmed the inner diameter so it fits now...

I can't comment on your question, but I *do* know those guys, they sold me the Initial D street tuner kit (bbtruw ;) ) for my car (hopefully I can hit up a radio shack between this weekend and next week and maybe they'll have at least one car left...)
