6 cell mod on evo
Ive done the 6 cell mod on my old camaro gen1 but I recently had to buy a new evo, because i accidently ran over some water in my camaro and fried the steering.
Ive heard that evos can handle 6 cells and i have attempted to hook it up, i punked out though when the batts heated up. I soldered in the 2 extra cells onto the board where the two stock batt lines go onto the board. Im pretty sure thats how its supposed to be done but I didnt want to fry my car and waste 60 bucks. Is there a tutorial sumwhere that could help me out. also the stage 2 i have in it shouldnt heat up to much should it (with 6 cells)??? It has the metal heat sync on it but still kinda worried. Any help would be appreciated. sorry if this has been posted b4, i didt feel like searching 4 it.:D |
6 cell help
in the xmods mods and projects section in this forum there are i think two different 6 cell upgrades for the evo cars and trucks.
this is how mine was done. 1. on the car there are two wires coming from the battery compartment, 1 red , 1 black. 2. cut the red wire apart. 3.then take your new 6 cell battery holder and connect the black wire to the red wire on your car that comes up from the battery compartment. 4. then connect the red wire on the 6 cell to the other red wire on the top off the pcb. 5. plug in your batterys and test to see if it works. 6. solder these joints together or use deans plugs if you want to be able to switch from 4cells to 6cells. |
