iWaver & MR01F
Does anyone out there know if it is possible to put an iWaver body on a MR01F Chassis and if so how?

If you have the right nose clip installed it should just snap on like any normal body. If you have more trouble here give us more info.

Thanks. I don't suppose you would know how to modify one for a XMods chassis, would you?

In the Xmods section here there was a Chrysler 300C Kyosho body done on an Xmods that I thought looked cool. You may have to search around there.
The nose mounts are about the same, just that the Kyosho or Iwaver uses a different mount for each body. So getting that to line up with the Xmods clip would be tricky to do. In some cases you might get lucky. I would guess about 9 out of 10 you will have to make your own tab to locate the front section with. I am not sure how good it works, but I have seen some Kyosho nose clips modded to work on an Xmods chassis. The Kyosho and Iwavers use side mounts that attach to the notches in the battery holders at the sides. The Xmods use a rear mount so you will most likely need to scratch build that. Or as the thread on the 300C, he said that he cut down the side mounts and fit them between the batteries in the sides. On Xmods with MiniZ board there is a thread on an Xmods with a Kyosho board that also has an Iwaver body in it. Here's another thread, but not much to it. Here's that Xmods 300 C thread. |
Thanks

No problem, as long as it is useful information that you can use before diving into your project.
Kyosho to Iwaver, or vice versa. The bodies will swap over with little problems as long as the body will fit the chassis. The racer series that is, the Overlands are another can of worms. The Overland bodies do not use a nose clip, these clip onto the battery holders front and back Kyosho or Iwaver to an Xmods, or vice versa. You are going to change the mountings enough that you pass a point of no return. It just means that once you have modded the body mounts to fit, it will be harder to go back to the original chassis with it. On some Kyosho bodies wheelbase can be an issue on the Xmods, mainly the MM bodies that are 98mm wheelbase may be a bit too long to fit the Xmods with the long setting. The 300C is one of those MM bodies and I'm not sure how that was done. |
