I love it!!!!!... where are the electronics?... post video!!!...more internal pictures!!!... is it 2WD or 4WD?
|
Electronics?
Almost everything is in the drivers cabin :D Only the Lipo-Cell (135 mAh) is under the black case in the back. The electronics are selfmade with ir components. I am using a microchip PIC 12F629 as receiver, esc and light controller. btw - it is 2wd. I have only a link with a lot of pics of the chassis building process for now. On the very interesting homepage of Andreas Rackel there are 2 pics at the bottom, where you can see part of the electronic components. But this is an earlier version, with the pcb at the back of the Unimog. The current solution is much smaller and under the hood. diets - should make some more pictures |
that chassis is REALLY nice... looks real...
the gearbox and front axle are very nice too... did you make those pieces or did you buy them? oh and thanks for the links.... are tere any more forums about TTTT?... the only thing I always see are the main information sites.... Mikroantriebe.de www.micmo.de Microtrucks.de Andreas Rackel Jörn Brakmann Sven Putti Stefan Zickenrott Mac Dollern Modell-Truck-Trial but I never see things that the average person is working on that you see in forums like this |
Actually Bit-racer.de is a good forum..... I've been seeing a lot of things there and ideas

There are not so many people who work on TTTT modells. You listed most of them! In the www.bit-racer.de forum, for example, there are approximatly 10 user who built a TTTT modell. And only 10-20 more, who are interesting in that scale. I think the biggest problem is, that most of the TTTT related pages are only in german. The only forum (despite of www.bit-racer.de), which i know is www.modelltruck.net. There is a subforum "Mikromodelle" with a lot of threads dealing with TTTT and related themes in 1:87. Some threads from www.bitracer.de Front axle "how to" Kardangelenk "how to" Unimog MAN 5 to. Fun Trialer MAN front axle 3 axle unimog MAN 3.5 to Scania Monster MAN 2.5 to MAN 7.5 to a search for TTTT diets - there is so much information |
10 people who built TTTT trucks is still more than I've seen in the USA....LOL
I like to go to forums where people discuss what they've done in detail and ask questions... the sites I listed are more "look at what we've done... but you can't discuss it with us and we won't show you any close pictures" usually on forums you get more information... and even looking at the bit-racer.de forum last night and today... I've learned more about TTTT than I have in two years and I don't care if it's not in english... I can use translation programs to get the general idea...and pictures are worth a thousand words... I also noticed that if someone posts something in english... the people on the forum answer back in English...so it's not so bad... as long as you post regular english and not slang or big technical words :D thank you for the other links |
By the way... I ordered an infrared receiver(with speedcontrol), transmitter, MAN5T kit and new brass front wheels from Peter (tttt-parts.org)...he's sending the stuff out today....:D

diets - is waiting for the results :) |
wow:eek: your milling/cnc work is fantastic!!!! those parts look like scaled down real parts!
the gearbox alone boggles me! that alone is well beyond my capabilities, then you show your steering... just a bit overwhelmed so forgive me:D |
Hey Acrh
Diets.... did you make the actual gears in the gearbox as well or did you just assemble them? if you made the gears (Actually CNCd the little teeth and everything) I will have to faint.... your steering knuckles are fantastic! |
milling
I am using a manual controlled milling machine from http://www.proxxon.com/us/. It is the MICRO mill MF 70, which is about 250 EUR. I would recommend it to everybody, who is seriously interested in building 1/87 modells. It is not cheap, but compared to that, what others spend for Mini-Z Racers and tuning parts, i would say peanuts.
