We just hit 1500 posts, and to celebrate, we're having a contest! The contest is to see who can get the most referrals to the Forums. To refer someone, you give them a link of the following form:

http://tinyrc.com/forums/index.php?referrerid=XXX

where XXX is your userID. If you don't know your userID, simply click on your own profile and in the URL you will see a "userid=" and then a number. You can send the link in an email, or post it on your web site. When a new user clicks on the link, then signs up, you get credit for the referral. The user with the most referrals by August 15th, 2002 will win a Bit Char-G Mini GP Motorcycle of their choice!

Doesnt the id number only apear to admins/mods? I didnt see it... can the ID name work?

Users should be able to see it, for example:

http://tinyrc.com/forums/member.php?...tinfo&userid=3

Well only place I see it, is in the url.... but thats only because you gave me an url with it... I think its someting only admins see ;) -- did you make a non admin acount for verification? I could be blind but I still dont see it any were... the url just ends in a = when clicking the user CP button... and its not on the page any were... also it apears no one actualy has any referals yet ;) other then the one you musta gave me trying to get it to work...

Drac, not in the User CP, but rather in the Members list. Without even logging in at all you can see the userid= in the querystring. Anyone who is unable to figure out their ID, just post here and I'll tell you what it is.

OK I see, never said I looked hard for it ;) just wasnt there so I went on my way.... putting mouse over a clickable user name, will yeild the ID number... how in the world did I get ID 3?!!? surely I wasnt the 3rd to register ;).. oh well.

OK spammed the url in a chat room... lots of confirmed visists ,comments on its "very red" hehe.. so I know they got here.. but the referal counts remain the same ;)

Drac, you have 1 now, from 0 - it's working. The person has to sign up for it to work, not just visit.

Still a month to go - keep those referrals coming and the Mini GP can be yours!

this is a cool contest, how did you think of it tinyrc?

Well, it's pretty simple, we want to increase membership so that we can get the same volume of discussion as Mini-ZRacer.com and YourMicro.com, and we figured we could reward the person who brings in the most new members, since lots of you are out there telling everyone about the site anyway!
