180 Motor Qs
Hey all, I'm new here, but not new to R/C, eletronics and soldering.
I got 2 Colgate Motion eletric toothbrushes from Target for 6.99. :) Now, I pulled the motors, put the caps back on in reverse polarity and the motors don't run anything like my Elite Micro Stock. These FF-180SH should smoke the Elites, right? Only other thing I haven't tried is to put the RS brushes on the FF-180SH. I'll try that tonight. If anyone has some input, thanks! |
wooo these are 180 sized motors??? i have one of those in my bathroom brand new, might have to pop that mother open.. just need a pinion puller...

The elite IS a 180 motor, and a considerably quicker one than the FF-180SH, at that...

You sure are right about that. So I soldered the RS brushes to the motor and it still is a dog. At least it was a cheap experiment. :) |
try taking off like 30 winds and making sure the timing is advanced in the right direction...if you still don't like and have some extra wire rewind it with 26ga wire...i put 30 turns and it revs decently but still has good torque...oh and if you're nervous about the 26ga wire...it only draws about the same amps as a stage 2 motor since there is alot more of it on the armature...
