LXX Controller with NiMH batteries

why is it when i use NiMH batteries in my LXX char g controller it refuses to work but works fine with alkaline. the NiMH batteries im trying to use are Energizer 1300mah NiMH's, please help me on how to fix this, would i need to install a resistor in the Transmitter, if so where abouts?

thanks

You can`t use NiMH or NiCd cells for transmitter for two reasons:
1. Voltage is 2.4 V instead of 3 V
2. Even if you`d ignore this (by using 3 cells instead of 2) charging current would be to high and you would probably fry the charging cell..
