This is a Beta verion of my car. My next step is to stretch the chassis and body and add more battery cells.

Looks alright, although I doubt you would win any drag races with those rear wheels. You would have no torque due to the weight of those muscle machine wheels and the extremely hard plastic provides no grip.

You can see by the video that the wheels are extremely critical at those speeds along with the weight of the car. He added four zipzap se batteries to achieve 4.8v to the pcb. This car looks a lot more proportional to a real drag car and performs like one also. My suggestion is to find some better wheels before you start modding the chassis. What good is having a drag car that spins out and can't even finish a race?

Actually the wheels are not plastic they are rubber.They are really not muchheavier than the stock ones.In fact they are a hybrid of both stock and the other.

Really? If they are rubber then that may work pretty well for 3.6v and higher. My mistake...they really look like the muscle machine wheels. If they are the muscle machine wheels, I guarantee that they won't work for anything faster than a stock bit unless you have some high grip surface (like rubber mats).

They are off a muscle machine.And they are rubber. If it came down to a traction problem i could just use 2 sided servo tape and remove the glue from one side with lighter fluid.Then they would have plenty of traction.Cause the tape is baically foam rubber. But thanks

When you add more batteries, get the zipzaps se batteries. They are NiMH rated at 1.2V, 70maH and more importantly, they are much shorter than the standard bit battery (10mm dia x 10mm lg). Each zipzaps se battery contains two of these batteries soldered together (by a clip) and shrink wrapped.

Using these batteries is also the easiest way to dual-cell a bit. You simply cut the shrink wrapping down the center of the battery, so you can bend the soldering clip allowing the batteries to lie side by side. Just solder two wires to the batteries and they slip inside the chassis (between the steering system and the original battery location) with no problem. Then you simply solder the wires to the charging contacts.

You want the 2.4v mini battery. I bought three for friends a while ago for $12 including shipping (you can buy only one). Here's a link with the specific mod that I described previously:

You can obviously see that if you did this mod with the stock batteries, your bit body won't fit because it sits much lower than the trueno. That's where the 4mm shorter zipzaps se batteries have an advantage allowing all bodies to fit after the mod.

:eek: Ok this is the latest on my micromod.This is the chassis stretch. I should have room for 4 nimh cells.The stock one has plenty of room with the stock cell size.

Most impressive! I would also recommend using larger stock cells if you have the room (especially when you peak charge). Post the finished car when you have it.

Also, my Motorworks dual-celled bit's time on a 7ft (kitchen floor)drag race is .81 seconds. But my car is for track races rather than drag (it has to take turns well). When you finish your car, let's see what crazy times you can get!

How many cells are you planning to add? You have a heck of a lot of room in your chassis! Holy crap, the speed of your bit is going to be insane. How many cells do you think it's going to take to cut my 7ft drag time in half?

I also have spare motorworks front tires that I can send you if you'd like. They are slicks and have a round profile that looks more like a drag car. The pic from crazydave shows the wheels on his bit.

I got this the other day for $3.99 at this store kinda like a biglots called mazzels. I just was thinking if i could come up with some kind of mod for it? Any ideas? I was thinking maybe mix it with a bit and make a trike or something?
