is there a better motor?
is there a better motor than the ZZ 3.4, as far as torque and speed? if so, where can i get them and how much?
|
4.2pro, from toyeast.com or at ebay.com (seller: toyeast) from Kowloon, Hong Kong. Many of the users here including myself, have ordered from them with no problem.
If don't want to wait for the 2 week delivery time, the walmart bit clone called Motorworks has a hardwired 4.2 motor with plenty of torque. Also, the knobby wheels of the Motorworks clone (with the shorter wheelbase similar to Microsizers) provide the best traction for your mini rc. Unfortunately, you will have to solder the wires to the motor contact wires of your zipzap. This shouldn't be a problem if you are handy with a soldering gun. |
For the SEs, no. For a reg. ZZ, maybe a bit 3.8

Try the 4.2pro and/or the motorworks motor. It is much faster than any 3.8 motor. I have tested many motors on zipzaps, zipzaps se, bits and many clones. If you need more assurance, use the search engine. |

I have also heard the 3.8's have much more tourque than the 4.2's. I have some 4.2's...but not sure which they are. What are the colors of the endbells of the regular 4.2 and the pro?
|
i tried 2 of the MW motors and 2 3.8's. the MW motors were very smooth and good torque, but seemed like a 3.0. the 3.8's were faster, but not enough torque. i ran the ZZ 3.4 again and realized, for this scale i really don't need to go any faster. on a 6'x4' track, it's pretty hard to control a new SE. thnx for the info guys.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...84820&tc=photo while the crappy 4.2's have a white endbell with a small wire clip as the contact (similar to a microsizers motor). I have only tested the Motorworks motors on bits and not ZZSE. BUT I GUARANTEE THAT THE 4.2PRO'S HAVE MORE TORQUE AND TOP SPEED THAN ANY OTHER MOTOR FOR A ZZSE. |
Thanks....I actually have both of those.
