The mono-shock is a waste. Put in a really stiff bar in between the 2 suspension mounts, and it handles much better.

Actually when setup correctly this mod can really help with getting realistic traction in the rear when throwing the car into corners. I have found that, depending on the track, with the right spring setup you can decrease your turning radius by quite a bit, because of the grab that wheels have with this mod. Basically the two wheels "feed" off of eachother to keep both wheels on the ground. I am doing one right now using GPM alloy dampers, it should be very responsive.

I am not sure what you mean by "a really stiff bar in between the 2 suspension mounts". The rear deck does this already. Can you explain? Maybe I misunderstood.

yeesh. Not only would that be tough, I'd be scared to bugger up 10 dollar shocks...

Ok, imagine you have your shocks still on, and itstead of the mono-shock, it is replaced with a piece of very stiff plastic. It pushes down on the opposite wheel when one looses traction.

take a piece of thin plastic or something and drill holes for the shocks to mount through. thats what viperdout is trying to explain. it works very well and keeps your rear end planted instead of hopping around like stock or even a mono-shock which i think is worse..
adding a bar it makes the rear suspension work as one, as well as with varying lengths you can adjust camber settings. i am using a cut up broken guitar pick cut short for a bit of negative camber. makes the rear end much more predictable, especially with lsd.

Exactly, except don't use too thin of a plastic, or it will just bend. I personally like the plastic off of ZZ packaging.

Very cool. I haven't tried that yet. You, if I am reading this right, get the benefit of independent suspension as well as the added pressure from the opposite wheel's reaction to the ground.

Makes sense to me. I will try it this weekend. Any particular tension on the springs?

Not really.

That is a great idea. Taking the shocks off and trying to find the springs after they fly accros the room was driving me nuts.

yup thats right. really improves traction and predictability. i wouldnt be able to stand driving w/o them.

i have no clue why i called it that. it acts nothing like a sway bar... a better name would be like a traction bar or something? lol

Looks like a sway bar to me. I may have to try that.
