450% power boost to transmitter antenna
I've thoroughly analyzed and schematicized the transmitter circuit and have come up with a way to boost power to the antenna by over 400%. The first question that comes to mind is, "So how much farther is the range?". Good question. I haven't measured, but in testing I noticed a definite increase in range. Where I once lost control of my xmod, I was able to go way beyond, after the modification.
If anyone can come up with a viable way for me to prove this, then please feel free to suggest. I've thought about using a video, but the scaling of distance can get quite skewed and thus prove ineffective. And I could always cheat and have someone out of sight controlling the xmod and have it look as if I am controlling it from a distance. But at any rate.... If anyone is interested, I'd be willing to have controllers shipped to me along with $15 for the modification. I'll apply the modification and promptly ship the controller back. Email me at Jshwaa@insightbb.com if you're interested. And to the dummies, no, I will not be releasing info on how to do it. Thanks. ~Jshwaa |
I would be interested if you would do a deal for two or more cars... I would be willing to give you 20 for a two controller upgrade... And I'll pay shipping both ways....Lemme know...;)

Can ya tell us how to do it? :D

so you have come up with this great mod and you say you'll do it for people but you wont share with the tiny rc community? ok we believe you:rolleyes: i'll believe it when i see a tutorial

But let me also ask you this......how many hot dogs have you eaten in your lifetime. Did you know what your money was going to then? Or did you just pay the money, and take someone's word for it being eatable? If someone told you the "secret", you'd probably change your mind on buying the hotdog and get a steak or somethin. BUT THE DAMN HOT DOG WAS GOOD ANYWAY!!!! Point being, don't worry about what's inside, rather, worry about whether or not the benefit is worth the money. I'm a firm believer of the saying, "Catch a man a fish, feed him for a day, teach the man how to fish, feed him for life", but in this case I'm on the side of the fisherman getting paid for feeding a guy for a day. If I taught the poor starving son of a bitch how to fish, I'd be out of a job!! GET IT? Or should I analogize some more? lol |
trust me if its a mod to the board it self most people will still pay you to do it. if its just an obnoxiosly long antenna i can and have accomplished that.

Nothing is done to the physical antenna. Heck, you can keep that with you and ship the remote without it. The modification I do is applied to the transmitter circuit, which is one of 3 types of circuits inside the xmod remote. You have an input circuit, which is made up of diodes and copper contacts, buttons, and switches. There's the processing of all of those input variables to which a command signal is processed and sent to the transmitter. Then there's the transmitter itself, which obviously sends the processed signal to the xmod receiver.
So you have input, process, output. I am targeting the output, the transmitter. And the mod is done by applying chosen parts to the transmitter board, which will allow for more power transferrance to the antenna. |
ok so sell it to me and be honest are there draw back however minor id like to know.is the signal worse or to strong at a closer range?also by no mean am i asking for a tutorial i hear ya on that(you gotta get paid)but can you explain a little of what you do so i understand the basic principal more.and remember if your going to do bussiness be honest and sell it ,so sell me on this

The only drawback I can think of is that your 9V will drain faster, as the transmitter circuit's power amplifier will be 'tuned' to draw more current in amplifying the signal to be transmitted. That is the best I can do in describing what the modification entails. If you've taken a communications course, what I've just told you would have divulged exactly what I do.

I just don't get it... I'm sorry I have no preception of what you are trying to get at? Is it worth the money or not? It's not an opinionated response it's just a yes or no type question... BTW does the offer that I gave you sound decent? Let me know...

its fun to crack down jshwaa, like no offence, you do good work but i honestly think a bunch of u guys who do labor for money just wanna scam little kids... i honestly dont know how to do this mod but i could ballpark it, u swap out the resistor going to the transmitter. this is up their with the guy who charges you 10 bux to solder up his "wire kit" cough ripoff cough newayz enough about me critisizing you guys, i guess if people are dumb enough to throw money away like that they outa be scammed...
