6 cell HELP

I just went to radio shack and got a 2 cell holder and conecters. I drilled the board and put 14 awg wire. At first it would only steer but not move ,then I took it back apart every thing looked ok so I put it back to gether. Now it does nothing!!!!!! Any help would be great!

make sure the motor plug is plugged in, and that the pinion is meshing with te bevel gear properly

I did, fresh batterys and evry thing.

Make sure when you added the new cell that you didnt cross the +- with the -+ or ++ -- if you get my picture... I'm not good at describing things...:(
