X Mod Steering

So my brother picked up a returned x mod for our Straight axle offroad project conversion for $10. Everything worked fine except it wouldnt turn right(the direction). So I took it apart and when I got to the steering servo, I noticed the motor ran constantly. What could cause this, possbily a bad solder or improper gorunding. The solder from the motor to the circuit board does look sloppy. Can anyone help???

did u take the servo apart too? cuz if the potentiometer does not know were the motor is, it cant tell the motor to stop spinning... it only works when assembled...

i would reccomend getting some 24 guage solid wire. replace the steering servo wires and the 3 wires that go to the little pcb. RS sells it, it comes in a roll. i think they call it "Rainbow Wire" there are 4 different color wires and their insulations are connected. the wire wont break as easily as the stranded wire and they deliver more current than the 5-6 separate strands of the stock wires. i would also replace all of the battery wires with 20 guage stranded wire. that wire is big enough to last a long time unlike the stock RS wireing.
