orion motor instillation on micro rs4

I am new to electric cars. I recently bought a micro RS4 and an orion modified motor in attempt to make it go faster. After installing the motor, paying attention to pos and neg ends and matching the red and black wires on the connectors. My car is now very fast but, the foreward and reverse is switched. Reversing the radio doesnt help. what happens is when I activate foreward control the car goes foreward but there is a 2 second pause just like reverse used to work. Activating reverse has an immediate response. Reversing the controls on the radio changes things but foreward still has a 2 second delay. Can I change this by reversing polarity on the motor or is there an adjustment to the ESC that can be made. thanks for any suggestions.

switch the polarity of the motor wires, that pause is the braking facility of the ESC...
