Charging IC3s

do i have to use the IC3 charger to charge them. i just bought some and when i get some money im gonna get the charger. i was wondering if it was safe to use the RS charger temporarily? i probably have to wait 2-4 weeks til i get enough money.

u can use other chargers but they wont charge the batts in 15 minutes. it will charge as fast as it charges other batts

ok i forgot to ask why the light turned red after they got done. why? or weren't they done?

red means its not charging. (i fink)
mine turns green after its done.

red means there's an error. green means its trickle charging to keep the battery topped off. and flashing green is normal charging.

aperson, I had the same problems with my ic-3's. it would turn red like 20 mins after putting them in the RS charger. So I bought the i-c3 charger. But the package says can be used with "any other charger, but will charge at slower speeds". I guess they did not mean RS charger...

the batteries get hot like the regular RS batts when the red light comes on, but then i just tap the charger and the batts start charging again. and Rayovac probably meant any other of their chargers
