Steering Woes: A-arm off?

i'll go ahead and list everything i have first:

AWD kit
Suspension Kit
CF driveshaft
Glued tires
S2 9tooth with neo mags.

i put on my susp kit today (4.5 tie rod, blue stiffest springs)

and i noticed that the car turns tighter to the left and wider to the right. it's always done this, but not this bad.

i thought it may be the shocks so i started looking at them to see that they were all seated. when i looked at the front shocks i noticed that the FR shock looked slightly compressed compared to the FL shock. so i took them off to inspect and they were both identical. then i looked at the red a-arms that come with the AWD kit.

my FR a-arm does not sit up as high as the FL a-arm! Does anyone else have this problem? i'm wondering if i can use my stock a-arms with the awd kit?

this HAS to be the problem. i even adjusted the servo to steer a hair more to the left (which would make the tie rod steer the wheels more to the right) and the car STILL turns bad. and on top of all this, i'm using the 4.5 degree tie rod which should make the car turn tight as hell!

loosen the screw on the underside of the knucke.
if they arent already gone like mine.

that doesnt change anything.

i just looked at the stock (yellow) a-arms on my parts car and they are the exact same way!

i'm going to try to file down the bottom of the knuckle a hair and see if that helps

it allows more suspension travel.

it allows more suspension travel upwards. what i lack is the travel downwards ;)

if you need down travel there are little blocks beneath the front a arms. its on the black piece where they mount to. if you are using the red a arms put the stock yellow ones back on. the red ones were made f***ed up.

i thought they were f-ed up too but when i compared them to the stock yellow a-arms on my parts car they were identical!

you have to trial fit the a arms to tell the difference. check to see if one knuckle wiggles more than the other. side to side and front to back. if one does you found the problem if not change them anyway. check to see if one of the rear a arms is turned in. one of mine was. check this thread

i think it would be the rear plate thingy. the sides are uneven so thats what makes the suspension sit uneven. most exmods have this... crappy quality. you chould try sanding down one side or you could aslo fill in the other to make them even?

no the round piece that holds the bearings/bushings is whats off. there is a way to fix it but unless you absolutely need to have the red arms just stick with the stock yellow ones. you cant sand them or fill one side in, you need to almost compleley rebuild the arm for them to work right. maybe Tiny could make some :hint: :hint:
