1/4 Mile Inquiries
I'm going to be hosting a 1:24 event with a local 1:1 car club. Scale 1/4 mile for these cars should be about 200 feet, but how would you accurately time a 1/4 mile run to maybe 1/10 or 1/100 of a second? Has anyone come up with a track timer for straightline courses?
I like twisties just as much as the next guy, but we're bound to en up running in a straight line to see who's got the fastest 1:24. Also, is there a good way to test top speed (real MPH or scale is fine, as it will be relative) |
a ZZ or SS timer maybe?
for the speed @ finish, a speed checker? (the kind the police use.) |

5280/24 = 220 I was accounting for a mile. 45 feet or so would make a lot more sense. I don't have the money to buy a lidar or radar speed checker. |
ur TrU should have a MS timer for cheap but they're small.
a SS timer should be like $20. |
