crest spin brush motor

Sorry if this was posted before but i didnt find answers....

1) Why do people swap spin brush magnets into the RS S2 can?
2) Does it matter if you swap the magnets into RS S1 can?
3) What is the advantage of swapping spinbrush components into RS S2 can and not just use spin brush can?

thanks in advance

Because the sb mags have a higher torque and u dont need to take a pinion off of the S2 motor

dmk101 03-09-2004 03:26 PM

but why not just leave the spin brush can?

The can only makes a tiny difference because of ventilation and how it's already built to fit into the space allotted. It doesn't really matter if the can is all you're talking about, not the magnest or armature attached.

1) you keep the armature(sp?) of the S1/S2 motor and just use the magnets.

2)no not really but your better off using it in a S2 motor.

3)you will burn out the brushes and the armature isn't wound for rc use.

P.S. i would try and use some neomodium magnets. i forgot who sells them, i think draconius does. check the science forum.

Its easier to reuse the RS can so you don't have to resolder anything.
