Custom Xmods Parts
I have been designing and selling the stainless steel decks for Xmods and want to know what you think about them.

I think it's a cool idea, and the flamed one in particular just looks wicked, but how's this work out for the stability? Definitely a must-have for a show car.
Why do all the pictures on the site look fake? |
I have them on all 4 of my xmods and you can't tell a deference in the stability. These parts will out last your car they are very strong.
Which pictures look fake? If your referring to the xmods car pictures then you might think they look somewhat real. I took a picture of them sitting on a stainless steel counter top. I makes a nice reflection. It is hard to take pictures of the stainless parts because they reflect so much light. Thanks |
Those look pretty nice. :)
|
The different cuts of the front plate look sort of fake to me because of how pixelated the edges of the metal are. It's probably just your camera, resizer and/or the light situation. I'm not saying they are fake, I didn't think that, they just looked weird.

ur sites down wove it to www.freewebs.com or get a server
|
does the front deck still hold the servo down? it doesnt look like it does. if it doesnt hold down the stock servo you will lose a lot of steering.
|
Hey Mike do you just sell on ebay or do you sell directly?
What form of payment do you take? How much do these new parts weigh compared to the stock plastic? I will add these to the XMods Parts FAQ under after-market parts If and only If you are not an exclusive ebay seller of parts. To be on that list you must have direct sales or be a site with direct sales. |
Those look really nice... http://www.tinyrc.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif

Wow lots of questions and comments:
Joey - Your right when I down sized the pictures it made them look jagged. The parts are really smooth and sleek. striker289 - I am working on a on-line store as we speak. It will be fully functional hopefully before the weekend is out. It is located at www.customxmodsparts.com aperson - Your not the first to say something about that. And to answer your question. No it doesn't. I have them on my Xmods and to be honest with you, if there is a loss in the steering I can't tell it. I made the parts so that they fit tight against the servo, so it shouldn't much if at all. cj1267 - I will sell them o anyone that wants to buy. I do sell them on ebay, but I will sell them in any way shape or form. Just email me if someone wants to buy a set. Feel free to add my site to that list. Temporary site: www.geocities.com/supraxmod Soon to come site: www.customxmodsparts.com If anybody wants some just email me at mikeadair@cox-internet.com Thanks for the nice comments!!!! Keep moddn' those xmods |

Looks great, my only concern is the weight increase :(
|
Actually it depends on which deck you get. If you get the race deck set, It is considerablly lighter than the plastic decks.
I am working on making the same decks out of carbon fiber though. Soon to come I hope! |
There isn't much too the plastic decks, no matter how much you skeletonize the SS decks, I just can't see them being lighter than the plastic.
Get the CF decks ready and I'll be interested, they won't be much lighter, if any, than the plastic, but I'm down for even more increased rigidity. |
I plan on having the first set cut by tuesday, I will let you know.
