Switch wiring question
1 Attachment(s)
Im putting new leads on my SB motor because of the shody ones radioshack makes. Its a standared round pole connector like you would see on any hobby-grade car. m gonna change the leads on the car also, but im also gonna use other standard motors so i though up this: I'm pretty sure it'l work, but just want it checked. (its a double pull, double throw switch.)
i am confused what is the point of the double pole double throw switch are you gonna put in 2 drive motors ????????
i'm putting different leads on one motor. They are different than all the rest, so i will need a different female connector to connect the motor to. All my other motors have the normal leads, and I would still like to connect those and use them, too. I dont want to clip and put on another female connector everytime I switch a motor. This was my idea on how to prevent that, so I was asking your opinion and getting the diagram double checked. Hope that clears it up!

that'll be fine. just make sure its not one of the big switches where you hae a huge arm that goes back and forth to switch.
I know, im debating wether or not I can fit another switc in. Ive already got 4, this would be 5:eek:
or you could just put 2 wires coming up from the PCB and put 2 wires coming from each of those and put 1 of each plug on each end. youll have your 2 plugs and no switch. all you need is your plugs some wire and some heat shrink tubing.
ehh, I dont wanna mess with the PCB, this'll work fine, Ive got a micro switch thats good. BTW, if anyone didnt know, the reson I'm doing this is because numerous tests showed that the curent connection looses 5-10% of the power.

Update: just finished, works very well. More power to motor and 14g wire
have you tried bigger battery wires? i went to RS last weekend and they had some silicone wire. 20gauge and very flexible. will that fit in these?
I put 14g in, its a tight fit, but they work. I'd probly go 18 or 20 for battery wires. Thanks, I might try that.
Ps- look under the topic "look if intrested". I posted pictures towards the end. |
