How to Diy an IR target?
Did anyone know the IR's spec which used in combat digiq?
I want diy a virtual tank for practice shooting. |
hmmm, what do you mean, specifications electronicly and the components or IR codes. If you mean IR codes download Girder from www.Girder.nl and then the Igor plug in. Then you will be able to decode each of the Ir signals for use if you wanted to make your own controller too. Electroniclly they are far to complex to say in a few words. Let me just leave you with this, it would be much wiser to buy a Konami Combat digi Q tank instead of making your own. And for target practice just buy a simple 3 dollar ir laser tag game and use that!:D

ok......reading all that is giveing me a headache
i was tiinking about useing lerning remotes2 controle more than one or more than 4. but you still would have a conflict with a more than 4 tanks situation. wright? |
buy 2 tanks and have one run around in circles while u shoot at it
it might sound sad but it works |
u can shoot at one of thes. it will show up as bright dot 4 1 sec
thers cheeper ones that arnt $80 iv seen some 4 $5. just an idea |
oops i 4got 2 post the web site. what i ment to do was post a web site that shows a credit card size IR detector-surface sensitive card.what it dos is if u point your tv remote or in thes case mabey a tank, when u hit the button on your tv remote/tank controler and have it pointing at the card it will shine relay brght where the beam is

IR protocol for Combat Digi Q
Just now getting started at decoding the Combat Digi Q infrared codes.
First of all, it's a modulated 40 kHz signal. The data stream looks to be 18 bits. This is quite different from the 12 bit format of typical TV and appliance remote control codes. Also, the Digi Q cars seem to have a 15 bit code. The code is continuously repeating at 200 mS intervals. Start pulse looks to be 2.5 mS. More later. |
And HOW are you doing this? (equipment/software?)... hopeing its pre existing software... cuz I know it should be easy to do.
|
just a theory
cool but is thes out of each diode? just wondering caz thers 3 diods in the controler. isn't ther? how dos that work ? thats what im wondering.is it like each range of kHz and 2 or 3 different kHz signals in combination make 1 command? hummmmm...
know what im saying? |
I think what you mean is theres 3 IR leds in the controller:D I think it uses each one for seperat commands, but I dunno im not sure

Hello, i want to tell you that on the german board where i look alot to. Robokalle has programmad a soundprogram for the PC that works the same as the digi-q sound system. Here's the link to that site: http://549.rapidforum.com/topic=100481827599&startid=1
you only have to build a ir-device that you hook up to your PC com-port, and a windows PC and your up and running. There is also a program availeal that can program your digi-q rom, here you also have to make your one cable to connect the rom to your parallel port. http://549.rapidforum.com/topic=101182935409 This program was made by Paul. He also made a program that can read out the ir-protocol of the combat digi-q. The link is here: http://549.rapidforum.com/topic=101181788099 This program also uses the ir-decoder that is the same as the one for the soundprogramm. Hope you like the program, credits to Robokalle, Paul and other members of the German http://www.bit-racer.de/ forum that have made these programs. |
been a while since any posts... and actualy one thats worth reading ;).
Find out if they can get it to work with the lego infrared tower... wich I happen to have... I need to controll the tank via the PC ;) for what I plan to do .... |
I've made my one IR-unit for 6,- euro, so it's not very expensive. You only need a handfull of parts to get it working. It's absolut top entertainment that you get from this piece of hardware, and software of course. If you have any questions, please ask them I will try to help answering them.
|
well the lego IR tower can broadcast, as well as Recieve... thus the PC would be able to control the tank... and make a dummy tank auto controlled driving round that u can shoot as a target...
thus my only question is will it work with OTHER IR towers, I already have the lego IR tower (from the robotics set), its USB... and has a VERY long range... like 60 feet or so :). |
But the program doesn't support a USB-port yet. How did you get the program to work?
And is the signal that the lego-transmitter transmit a 39,2 frequentie? |
