Flamed out Acura...

I had tried something different with my tattoo graphics, but really, it wasn't me. So I did my usual flames.

Nice avatar. If you look real close you can see the devil's face in the center of the flames. That proves it's the devil's tool. lol

Nope, spray can.

I used a technique I experimented with on guitars. After I layed the white primer, I faded in the aqua from the back. Then I faded some more white primer in from the front. I masked off the flames, and layed the dark blue. I wet sanded with 1500 grit sandpaper to level the dark blue with the flames, at that point I focused on the areas I wanted to bring out more aqua in the flames, and sanded a little heavier at those points. Being super careful not to sand through the color and back into the white.

It's a tricky, risky technique, but modesty aside, I don't think you'll see a smoother fade with a spray can. :D

too complicated for me....ill stick to decals. LOL

I just painted the spokes on the stock rims with a Testors paint marker. No reason you couldn't do that yourself. ;)

LOl, thanks man. I'm in AZ.

You really want your guitar refinshed, check out this website, http://www.reranch.com/

All the info you need is there, but I wouldn't waste my money on the expensive nitro-laquers they sell. Unless it's a vintage instrument, otherwise acrylic laquer from the auto parts store will probably be a step up from the poly-urethane that your guitar is more than likely originally painted with.

(Sorry to take this thread so far off topic. Couldn't help it, I love gueetars :D )
