how to make scoop

Get some lexan or super-sculpey and shape your scoop, sand it down, paint it and glue it to the roof. That's what the other guy did, except I think he got some styrene plastic and used heat to shape it.

yea I wanna see this too... are you planning on making it functional at all? I was thinking about actually cutting the roof too and make it kind of a cooling vent for the motor.

And also what xactly is super sculpey... I've heard of sculpey before but never super.

It's this clay/ceramic-like material that you bake for a certain amount of time and it hardens.

it seems to me that it would be kind of brittle wouldnt it? I mean... Im not going to try and flip my car and it rarely happens... but seems like if it ever did the scoop would be kind of ruined. And you'd have to be making new ones often.

Aside from getting tiny scratches in it, Sculpey is remarkable strong. I used it for making tiny figure-people for Dungeons & Dragons, which were thrown repeatedly, and they all survived just fine. If you sand, paint, and clearcoat the stuff (you'd want to make it a little bulky to begin with for this approach, since sanding on this surface would take a lot off very quickly), then even the scratches shouldn't be a problem.

really sweet. Looks like this is going to be my next project. And the way shipping seems to be going, I should be able to start it if not finish it by tomorrow. I won't have any pics of what it looks like for a while though. Only my dad has a digicam and I won't be going there till next week!
