range compared to mini Z

Since the XMODS use a 9v (=6cells), and MiniZ's use 8 cells, it would seem that XMODS have a shorter range, but a less expensive cost to operate.

What have people experienced as far as range goes?

There's a resistor near the antenna which, when you remove it, allows for a longer range. I'm not sure why it's even there to begin with.

I've never been able to get mine far enough away to lose range, unless when the 9V dies. I only drive it inside.

so i just remove the resistor eclosest to the antenna in my xmods controller? i need a mod like this, because since iv installed my stage 2 motor, my range has been cut in half

As I remember it, there are two: one's balck, and I'm pretty sure that's the one that increases the range once it's gone. You'll want to do a search, since my recollection of the mod is obviously less than perfect.
