water
ok will water ruin the cars cuz it was wet damp really and i was drivin my car around
Not the best idea, IMO, but the electronics are actually fairly well protected, for the most part.
Fairly well protected? i had to put silicone around the metal piece on the bottom to try to keep water out. i fried mine by just driving it in a small puddle about 6in long and maybe 3-4 mm deep. but seeing my civic hydroplane was worth it.
You can use a skid plate to help protect the electronics from water...it saved my car when i accidentally drove it into a puddle :D
i might be able to use my skid plate again because of the silicone but before the silicone all the plate did was hold the water into the chassis.
skid plate how i get or make one:confused:

I double-wrapped a sheet of plastic (held on by a single rubber band) around my car for the space between the wheels, and drove it over my bathroom floor covered with Pine Sol and water. I did donuts and powerslides for almost ten minutes, nonstop, and it didn't hurt anything.
It's certainly not a great idea, no, but it's not going to kill the thing if you protect it to some degree, and use a little common sense. I could just avoid this whole situation of the RadioShacks around would just order some new parts. Quote:

i fugged my skyline up running thru just a little water barely any on the smooth concrete in our garage i thought it was fun slide'n around till my car fried

Joey the links dont work
They do when I click them. Check out Bad Company's Mods and Tutorials thread in the XMODS > XMODS forum. That's where the original links are.
you shouldnt do that. its not healthy for your xmods.
my friend abuses his xmods so much he should be tried for animal abuse or something. he drove his xmods into about 2 or 3 inch deep puddle of water. YES IM SERIOUS. the car was almost fully submerged. we did it about 5 times. also, he drove his car down a cement stair way of about 5 steps. it was practically rolling down the steps. he really treats his xmods extremely poor, yet it still works and is still really fast for some reason. |
Well if he doesn't mind shelling out another $50 when that one dies, let him do what he will. His car.
I got a friend like that too, now his RSX is in pieces because of a truck running over it, and his skyline was stepped on and destroyed in horrible ways that I cannot even speak off
I drove my old supra around on my kitchen floor with a coat of Windex sprayed across the floor... lots of fun, but I think it's the reason my steering got all messed up, because it seemed like an electrical problem. Now that car's just a parts car, and my new supra won't be driving in water until I decide to break it and get another :)

puddles
I acidentally ran mine through a couple of puddles left behind by water dripping off of cars (in the parking garage), but I dried off my x-mod right away and had no troubles.
