NiCad Cordless Phone batteries
Has anyone tried using the battery packs from cordless phones? They have a fairly simple plug whose mate could be hard wired in series with the existing battery. When it comes time to charge the zz unplug the cell phone battery and charge it on its original charger....and recharge the zz as usual. Just a thought, let me know what you think.

Sounds like a good idea, but i would think that the rather high weight of something like a phone battery would be prohibitive.

Ya... good idea, but aren't most phone batteries bigger than the car?

I opened the cordless phones in my house and discovered they were all using a 3 battery pack system. If I remove one battery from the trio and use a heavily modified hummer HO scale slot car I think it will all fit. Another battery I sized up is a 3.5volt NiCad disc battery that was used in Gottlieb pinball machines during the 90s. It looks as if my PT cruiser could fit at least 1 or two without modification to the car's exterior.
I'm getting my but kicked by the other zips at work, I think my mod car antenna is to heavy and I need a drastic increase in performance to counter act the extra weight. -slackerZ |
Dang, the pinball machine batteries are lithium.
