best batteries for speed?

From anyone personal experience, which AAA's make the car fastest?

Rayovac's IC3s charge quicker, but does that necessarily mean they make the car any faster?

What about those high mAh AAA's [1000+ mAh]? They sell them at BestBuy but I forgot the actual brand name.

What about a no-holds-barred contest of ANY TYPE of battery that produces the best speed results [AA's, etc...]?

my ic-3's have given me more speed.

I can tell you from my personal experience that the IC3's have a little more power than any other battery I have tried. I don't know about the 1000mah batteries, I have never even seen them. Besides, the mah applies to the capacity and run time.

I'd suggest doing a 5 or 6 cell mod ith the IC3's, that will blast your car off the starting line and keep it that way. Plus, with the car on low throttle, and a sudden flick to high throttle while driving, can seem like a real nitrous effect! just my opinion.

Chuckster...

wow, thanks for the quick reply. The 6 cell IC3 mod sounds tempting. I just don't want the power supply to be the performance bottleneck on the car.

is it bad if my 5th cell is not AAA?

I have 2 AA ic3's lying around right now. I haven't even charged them since i got them 2 weeks ago.

No you do not HAVE to use a AAA as your 5th cell, but there are some good reasons for sticking with all the same batteries.
1) AAA batterys are mutch smaller than a AA. (Where to fit an extra AA? It is hard enough to cram an extra AAA.)
2) You want to have all the same type batteries so that you get even drain. If you use a AA with the AAA the AA will still have plenty of power when the AAA are dead.
3) AA batteries weigh alot more than a AAA battery does.

I guess I'll use a 1.5V alkaline b/c a 4 pack of ic3 AAA's would cost $13.

Anyone have 1 extra AAA ic3? :)

Do you have a URL to a site?

I still stand by the IC3's I even modded one of my 1/18 scale cars to run on them! It HAULS faster than the battery pack that it came with!!!

here's one but i saw some on ebay and a few other websites thats what we use in the 1/10 scale.but i keep seeing rayovac batts on this site.i think its because they charge faster. i wanted to know if the gp's in the size aaa were just as good and the size c.

aero528 10-13-2004 08:25 PM

these will surly make your car go fast: http://www.blindbatts.com/catalog/pr...roducts_id=169

I found a lil more info right here. I went to Rayovac website and they seem to be the same cept for the charge time.

I am not fimular with GP batteries... But I know (Compaired to EVERY other reghargable batt, and non recharge that I have access to) That the Rayovac IC3 batteries work best in high drain devices, such as RC cars and Digital Cameras. I have some other brand AAA 800mAH, and I get more speed, and longer runtime from the IC3's than any other battery... (That I have played with)

That would just give more runtime. 1100 vs 800 means longer races.

What size are thoes anyway... The site does not say.
