perfect upgrade receiver/speed controller
go to this site check it out . would be great for people want to use more powerful motors and 12
voltshttp://www.plantraco.com/hobbies/product-dsp4.html better longer radio range . have to use special cyrstals with it |
instead of making me copy and paste could you make it a link so i could be lazy
|
Well it was a good find but you would have to have it converted to land frequency or risk a FCC violation.
Also I wonder just how good the ESC would be since it is for airplanes it most likely would NOT have reverse. Here are a few links to various sites with it.(should keep you busy clicking for a while) dsp 4-sc "balsa products" dsp 4-sc "plantraco" dsp 4-sc "blimps" dsp 4-sc "mikro designs" dsp 4-sc "jgrc" |
chances are that thing doesnt have reverse, but does it at least have breaks?
|
It probably has brakes since some airplanes have to use brakes to fold the props when going into glide mod but I'm not an airplane person by any measure so I'm probably wrong.
It is on air frequency and would just need to be retuned ( by a certified facility ) to a land frequency. |
im not trying to be annoying or somehow trying to make a point. honest question. does anyone ever actually get busted by the fcc for using somthing outside 27 or 49?
|
I guess you would have to ask an airplane person since they would most likely know of any stories like that.
I really dont think the FCC has people out everywhere scanning for illegal use of RC air frequencies but if it gets abused enough we could lose it. I think most air frequency receivers can be re-tuned to land frequency easy and cheaply enough anyway. |
Guys, don't use an air frequency in a car. If your control gets messed up, so what, you bump into a wall or something. If an RC plane can't be controlled anymore, someone could get seriously injured at worst, and at best a very expensive plane is going to break into a million chunks.
Just don't do it. |
I have to agree with REZ for those reasons and more. There is no good reason to use an air frequency in a land vehicle.
You can have some air frequency receivers changed to land use by a certified shop and I am thinking of doing that at some point myself. I have heard that Tower Hobbies is certified to retune receivers but I havnt confirmed that. |
In USA it is illeagal to retun a 72 to 75 Mhz or vice versa. Just don't discussit, I guess. Who would know?

Excuse me but read this please.
or just go here. futaba site Information on changing bands from 72 to 75, and others. Great news...the 9C radio is now available on 75MHz! IF YOUR RADIO IS MODULAR, such as an 8U, 9C, or 9Z, then your system will work fine on ground by simply purchasing the ground module, TJ, on a ground frequency (FUTL18** with the last 2 digits being your desired ground channel) and then use it with a ground receiver. If your radio is NOT MODULAR (uses a simple crystal to set its frequency and not a plug in frequency module in the back of the radio), then, alternatively we offer a flat rate service to change certain 72MHz air radios to ground to provide you, the modeler, more flexibility for your ground vehicle. For a flat fee of plus $7.99 shipping: Complete computer radio systems: $35* Complete non-computer radio systems: $25* Computer transmitter or module only: $20 Non-computer transmitter only: $15 7-9 Receiver only: $20* 2-6 Channel receiver only: $15 *NOTE: If your receiver is an R127DF or an R138DP the cost to convert to 75MHz is the figure shown above PLUS $44.95 to cover the cost of parts changes required in these receivers to make it function on the other band. For example, a 6X radio system sent for conversion would be $35 plus $44.95, or $79.95, to convert to ground. A R138DP alone would cost $64.95. For these 2 receivers, it is likely more logical and cost effective to purchase a new receiver on the proper band and sell the receiver you have or use it for a different purpose. Please be sure to follow our service center instructions when sending your radio for service. Please note if you are purchasing a brand new radio, your dealer can special order this change to be done in advance prior to shipment to you. Please also note that 50MHz, commonly known as "HAM BAND" or "6 meters" is legal for both air and ground use. If you have a HAM users license you can safely and legally utilize 50MHz frequency radios for both aircraft and ground models without requiring any changes. Only 72/75 MHZ MODULAR transmitters (ie. 8U, 9C, 9Z, NOT 4VF, 6X, etc) equipment can be converted to 50MHz and vice versa. Receivers and crystal-based (non-modular) transmitters CANNOT be changed. I like to discuss it because it seems to make some people uneasy. I dont want to kill a good thing but I do want it done right. |
