The rear mounts are quite a PITA. But pending some final racing tests, I think I have a good system for mounting them pinned down. If they hold up under some rough and tumble, then I'm going to post a nice pictured tutorial on how I did it.
For clarification, heh: In real life, I own a 300ZX with Skyline engine, hence the Skyline for me. My wife owns an S2000. (her xmod pictured) My friend owns a PT Cruiser. (his xmod pictured) For reference, my friend's PT: http://www.2fastparts.com/homedir/DSC04738.JPG I hated them at first, but I have to admit his looks awesome and the car really grows on you. It's not the fastest thing out there, but then again speed isn't always everything. |
post some pics of the 300.........i wanna see the skyline motor in there!
|
i really like the all black look! kick ass!

Hey Alex, why don't you grow up. Here's more pics that I will share. First up is my 300ZX, since some people on here have a chip on their shoulder. Then followed by my friend's and my Xmods and extra bodies for racing and show. Lot of pictures so hope you're not on 56k.

God I hate losers on the internet who have to try and act like somebody doesn't have something as simple as a car or whatever. Anyway, here's the Xmods: As you can see, my Skyline's nice paintjob took some battle damage during car tag. I also added flame stickers just for fun, and the wheels are from the PT Cruiser's model. Looks like something straight from the front of LowRider magazine, doesn't it? LOL.. Don't worry, it's not permanent. Pictures will be spread out over the next couple of posts. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...8/fa3cee70.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...1/fa3cee74.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...1/fa3cee7b.jpg |

are some of those mini-z's?? they have different antenas. and i am not fan of those white walls, but that is just my opioun.

The bodies are mini-Z's on the NSX and S2000. The Skyline and Supra's are Xmod bodies, and the PT Cruiser is a Revell model.
My friend with the PT Cruiser has the Cruiser body, and a Skyline body (not shown). My wife's is the red Supra with bumper crash guards for our racing, and the S2000 body for show to match her real car. My other friend owns the white Supra, with NSX for his show body. He saw the Mini-Z body and just had to have it, and stuck me with the task of mounting it.. heh... Difficult, but not impossible. Just different with every different body you try. I used large pieces of rubber for the PT Cruiser's mounts to fill up the space, and glued a piece of ball point pen top for the S2000. In that picture, my black skyline is the only one not actually on a chassis, it is just sitting on a rolling chassis. My Xmod chassis is actually under the PT Cruiser for the picture since we didn't have enough Xmods to display all the bodies at once. They are all 5 cell cars, and two of them are temporarily broken down. The white supra has a problem with the reciever on the car, and only has a range of about 3 feet at the moment. Mine has a broken dog arm or whatever you call that cup that the wheels' knuckles go into. So at the moment we aren't racing much. When we do, we play "car tag" where one car is it and the other 4 cars have to catch the "it" car. Hence all the scratches and crash guards you see. :D I'll try to get some pics of our ghetto looking 5th cell wiring jobs, and a pic of the worktable with all the crap spread across it. My kitchen table looks like an Xmod mad scientists workplace right now. Dremel tools, soldering irons, vices, etc.. lol. Anyway, just thought everybody might like to see the different bodies we've experimented with. I'll post pictures of the mounts so you can see how I did them, although they aren't pretty. EDIT: Almost forgot, the "antenna's" aren't really antennas.. They are just pieces of 18 guage black wire we put on them to make people scratch their heads. :p |
