AWESOME mods/tips
1 Attachment(s)
If anybody has any of their favorite tips post them right about... here.
My favorite: (ABSOLUTELY NO SOLDERING) If you go out to rat shack and get a single cell AA battery holder you can wire it up, run it for a few seconds (it will not move because of lack of power, but hold on), then disconnect the battery holder from the circut. Splice (twist) the wires back together and........... VOILA!!!! You now have the power of a 5 cell, but with the weight of a 4 cell!!!!!! Much faster than a plain 5 cell. here's how you wire it: 1) find the wire that connects the two battery holders 2) cut it in the middle 3) strip it about half an inch on each end 4) strip both the (+) and (-) end of the battery holder's wires about half an inch 5) connect the + 5th battery wire to the wire running from the left battery compartment 6) connect the - 5th battery wire to the wire running from the right battery compartment 7) hit the gas for 20-30 seconds 8) disconnect the battery compartment 9) twist the wires back together 10) kick ass |
Uh... Are you suggesting that you disconnect the stock batteries, hook up a single cell, then run it for 30 seconds, disconect the single cell and reconnect the original four cells, and then you'll have the power of five cells with only four?
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? |
ok besides the fact that that does NOT work whatsoever, you suggest that people hook up a single AA batt holder WITHOUT THE AA BATT right? then you "RUN" it without any voltage, right? and then all of a sudden, MAGICALLY extra volts come from NOWHERE to increase the speed of the xmod giving you the voltage of 5 batts..............c'mon  unless you plan to leave the 5th cell holder in there, this "TIP/MOD" is complete BS. haha,oh man i can't believe that you expect us to believe that..........so if your theory is true then, how about i use a 9v batt HOLDER? then i'll get the extra 9v? haha......geez, ur not a RS employee trying to get people to go out and buy single AA batt holders so that you could make a profit are you? even though you're probably not being paid on commission.
if you really want to increase your xmod's performance, ur not going to do it without a soldering iron .....besides a faster motor that won't fry your ESC from too much voltage draw. |
ooops. sorry i forgot to mention that you do have one AAA in the AA battery holder. And no, it is not BS, not like someone else here. <cough> and i am NOT a f***in RS employee!!!! If you don't believe me, try it dingbats!!!!

Arguing on the internet is like running in the special olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarded.

that's ok...i'm a fan of freedom of speech too :). i might have been scammed a couple times too:o so yours didn't work? hmmmm. when I had the fifth cell in place, the motor moved the car about 1 cm, and when the motor was out of the car but still connected, it needed a spin to get going, and then maxed out on 1/4 of it's top. So i disconnected it, and it flew! must be something in my car... it was completely stock when i started it. [EDIT] did you follow my attachment exactly ? [/EDIT]

that's funny. anyways.......i have found another cool one:
if you need a new body, go to your local Michael's and get a 1:24 or 1:25 scale car. They usually fit right on with no molding or cutting needed. I have a Datsun 240z on there right now |
no difference???
You didn't notice a difference in your RSX with a 5th cell???? Are you sure it was fully charged? I have 6 cells in my Supra and there is an ENORMOUS difference.
|
no difference??

well look on the bright side u wont have to replace the batts as much

Guys, there's nothing to this mod. Hooking up a 5th cell, then removing it, will not make your 4 cell car go any faster. If you noticed any increase in speed, it was your imagination. If you have the equipment to prove me wrong, PLEASE do so. I'll hook up 50 cells and then run 4.

well thats kind of dumb to go through with the mod and see no difference
