Help with videos?
As you all may have seen, my racing group has been videotaping our races for fun, and this week we even started doing reviews of items, for possible posting to the web for everyone's benefit, if we can find the space to upload them to. I've been cramming all the video files onto my personal web space, but I'm rapidly running out of storage space. Any suggestions on how or where I can stash these videos so everyone can enjoy them (some of our races are pretty funny), or is anyone even interested?

It's not that no one is interested if you don't get a response. This is a fairly common question and the demand for video space far outweighs the supply OF said space. ;)
If you have broadband, you could share your files out on Kazaa, by placing them in your "My Shared Folder" folder. You could also setup an FTP server and let people access the files that way. Again, fast connection required. I'd recommend Vermillion FTP Daemon. It's free. I don't know of any commercial sites that offer significant space for free, maybe someone else does. Just keep asking around and hopefully a friend has a webserver somewhere that you can use. (be specific with your subjects) Good luck! |
Yahoo gives you 30Mb of space for each id, but I think they don't allow you to upload videos without paying (a recent change). But, you could zip the vidoes and upload them that way.

If you dont mind what format are you using? Qtime, AVI, Mpeg, Real video? You could drop size and quality and get some back. Also you could editing them down with just the hilights. Also cycle then around.
