ZZ vs ZZSE?
Hi all,
Been away from ZZ for awhile :(. Went into Radio Shack to see the new xmods and noticed the new ZZse's. :) I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the difference is between the 2? Or is there some sort of online faq with the info? Are the parts interchangeable or the new controllers? Any help is apprciated. Thanks LV |
the se has propo steering and throttle, and a new controller

Well, I think that pretty much all the parts are interchangable. The difference is that the controller is a pistol grip. There is proportional steering and the bodies come with lights installed. As for the bodies they stand really high on the chassis and the chassis is totally redesigned and you can save any batteries that you dont use by using the switch on the chassis. Also you can race up to 6 people. Hope this helps!

Woudl you say the SE are better or worse? What is this thing about them being slow? Have they chagned the orginal ZZ at all?

Are they better as in more fun or anything like that? Are there any new upgrades for the old ZZ now as well? Thanks for th answers all.

The SEs have really cool features, but are inconsistent. Don't buy one if it's too much of a hassle to return to the store for an exchange; from my experience only, 50% of them don't turn well at all (the real number probably isn't that bad).
They have lights, supposedly proportional steering and throttle (turn the steering wheel halfway and the car does a shallower turn; pull the throttle trigger halfway and the car goes at half speed), and most importantly, six cars can race at once (in theory you can race 6 SEs and two regulars at once). They're a bit slower and the bodies are higher on the chassis (looks ugly) but I think they're worth the $5 increase and more - if you get one that works. So again, if you don't mind returning a defective one, go for the SE. The engine/gear upgrades work on both versions. Some of the non-SE bodies have trouble fitting on SEs, and SE bodies probably need the lights removed to fit on a regular chassis. |
just get the se

If you get one, make sure you check out Micro_Amps mosfet mod.
Carlisimo is right, the bodies do sit high on the chassis, but It's a minor thing. A little cutting will bring it down to a suitable level. And some wheels are definitely in order. For example: http://www.digitalpose.com/mbr/1/321...5526332_vl.jpg |
