ZipZaps Custom Race Cases
A lot of folks have previously discussed what they carry their Zaps in, here are a few ideas to toss around -:) This is my custom ZipZaps race and gear case made from a 5-1/4" floppy case with a 1/10 scale RC transmitter handle mounted on the top, cut up stackable plastic ice cube trays for small parts, a custom soft zippered tool case, as well as a case for a single ZipZap and transmitter using a disposable "Ziploc" container.

That's an issue I'm taking a fresh look at too.
I'm starting to collect more parts than my MicroSizer Case can handle, and I'll need to expand soon. I have a huge two-tray Rubbermaid toolbox that I'm thinking of dedicating to my tinyRC stuff, but I'm keeping my eye out for other options. Maybe one of those big multi-tiered tackle boxes or something. The thing is I still want to store all my destroyed cars and their controllers, for future RC projects. (Much better to keep all that stuff together.) |
My biggest problem was initially finding a suitable case that was tall enough... I have this seeeeeeevere pet peeve about keeping the cars' antennas straight LOL -:) BTW, because of that, I usually don't use the Ziploc container that's displayed in the pic, but it's perfect for the racer "on-the-go" who only owns one of the Zaps -:)

Nice! Looks like you are always going to be organized. I use a PLANO tackle box to store all my zip zaps and microsizers.

I use one of those Spacemaker pencil boxes that we use in kindergarten. Ya know? the ones with the bumpy tops. I use the long ones. They store two controllers and a quart-sized ziploc baggie of parts. I've always wanted a bigger case though.
