Do 1:24 scale cars...
Fit on a xmod because i found thus really cool looking BMW and curious if it would fitm if it does I would like to know how to modify bodys to be able to do this. Thanks!!!

1:24 are too big you should try 1:25 scale models
|
Some people have been able to fit the smaller wheelbase type cars from 1:24 scale models on the Xmods, others have shorten the bodies to get them to fit.
|
wait. these are 1/24th right? so 1/25 would be bigger or smaller?
|
Xmods are 1/28th scale, which is smaller than the 1/24th scale models.

It worked better, looks normal and functions really well. Now there is more roon for a bigger motor and more space for the 6 or 8 cell upgrades. I will have posts of it up soon I hope. Waiting on some body mounts from RS so I can mount it right. |

I think someone should start a thread where users can post bodies that will easily fit the Xmods chassis (aside from making the part to snap into the chassis).
It could be in the format of: Brand: Body type: Scale: Xmods chassis:??? (I heard the dif bodies fit dif chassis? I'm still an xmod nub) |
The mustang body I am using is a Revell 1.25th scale. The width is perfect. The engine compartment had to be cut down and I had to make a spot for the crystal to pop thru. It looks great though. It has a hood that opens and you can see the inside of the xmod. It looks cool. I might even mount a blower on the chassis so it sticks thru the hood. LOL might be a little overboard.

Are you going to use the wheels that came with the model for your 'Stang?
If you do, those wheels will be wider and have a larger diameter than the stock wheels, right? What affect do you think that is going to have on traction, handling, torque, and RPMs? I'm curious because I want to try to do the same thing. |
The tracktion issue will be uncontrolable because the tires with the model are hard. They wont fit on the xmods rims because the holes are to small and the tires are to big. Ther rims of the model are the typical model rims that are not complete so I cant even use the rims. Bummer because they look sweet. Any one have suggestions on what rims to use and tires???

Craftsman made these, and I think they'd be perfect on an older Stang...
