Xmods n00b questions.
 

I was going to get a Zip Zap SE and the motor and body set which would cost $38 total and thats only $12 less than a Xmod, so I've started trying to figure out which one is better.
First of all how long does 4 AAA batteries last? I don't have any rechargeble ones so I'm just talking regular AAA batteries.
How fast are they stock, if anyone has seen the Fast Lane Super Slicks with the fastest motor and gears (very fast for a indoor car) how do they compare to those? Or if theres some way you can tell me roughly how fast they go in feet per minute or MPH (not scale miles per hour). If you get one are the upgrades neccessary for handling or speed? Does anyone have any videos of a stock Xmod? Also what frequencies do they run on? The one I wanted was a Band 5 I believe, would that interfere with a regular 27 or 49 mhz car? Thanks for the info if you can help.

There would be no interference with any ZZ, so don't worry about that. Stock with regular alkalines would only last about 10-15 minutes, so if you want more than that you'd better get some rechargeables. As for speed, they do about 12mph out of the box, and with all the upgrades probably around 17 or 18.

This should answer a few of your questions. The XMODS run on 27MHz and each of the 6 current cars run on a different frequency in the 27MHz band. Replacement crystals are available so 12 XMODS can be run at the same time. The top speed in stock form is anywhere from 11 mph to 15 mph depending on the surface you're running on. With RadioShack mods, these cars should do 20 mph easily.

maybe you should wait until you can afford the rechargeable battery set to go with your XMod.

Yeah really I was looking for something more indoors though (I have a 9.6 volt Nikko Evolution car that goes about 15 MPH for outside already) and it's getting colder outside so when I have to come indoors I was looking for something to use. I had a chance to try out one of the Fast Lane Super Slicks and they're very nice, but they only come in 2 frequnecies whichs sucks. So now it's either the faster Fast Lane Super Slick or the slower and more expensive but digital proportional Zip Zap SE.

get xmod you can set it on controller for low which menas it will be little slower

i just got one yesterday with a stage two moter kit. the 11 tooth pinon gear 30,000 rpm moter dose exacly 8.4 mph on the low setting with full alkiline bats. i dont know how fast it goes on high becasue my treadmill is no that fast. i will be teasting how fast they go over 100 feet today so i wil post back when i get the info. get an xmod they rule!!! much better than a zipzap se!! but if you like unbalenced dig. prop. than get a zipzap.

for indoors i reccomend zipzaps unless you have a big flat smooth empty space in your house

Really? I get about 25-35 minutes of running time.

what batteries are you using?

Well I am using duracell batteries and I have bearings (decreases friction) and I have a 26,000 rpm motor.

i think you get longer time becuase you have different batterries and smaller engine

I get at least 30 minutes with Energizer NH 750am rechargeables. Stock everything WO/Bearings. I think time has gone up now that the car is breaking in.

hadoken, You need at least an area of about 8x10 feet to have lots of fun. Less if you just want to have fun. Very raceable on 8x11. Our track is 8x11 made from PVC and we've been having a ball. Three of us racing here.

I'd probably be the only one with one...because I know my brother isn't getting one anytime soon and my cousin doesn't like them for some reason.
