Am I going insane?
Sorry if this is off-topic, but I could swear there was a thread here in "1:1 scale cars" with some (rather old) pictures of the rumoured Skyline R35 which I replied to. I searched all posts made by me and my reply does not show either? Am I going REALLY insane or what? Was I dreaming when I read (and replied) to it?

There is such thing as an R35 Skyline. I'll try and get some specs.

Here she is.

Well, that's the next Skyline; I'm not sure if that's the R35.
I saw some pictures of what looked like an R34 with an even higher beltline (hardly imaginable), shorter hood, and slightly less angular details. It may or may not really exist. That one there is the next GT-R, it's supposed to have a V8 for the United States (which I think is a bad idea - along with the entire body design). Probably a smaller version of the fullsize Nissan Titan pickup, seeing as how much Nissan loves to use the same basic engine for everything. Remember the 3.5 V6 for like the Altima, 350Z, Maxima, Frontier, and Quest? |
Their releasing the Skyline in the States? Times are a changing. . .
|
Actually the Skyline has been out in the US for some time...just not the R series. The R series has sort been put on the back burner for a while. Anywho, they released the new V series Skyline here in the states...you might know it better as the Infiniti G35. :)
Edit: Oh and yes that's a pic of the R35 concept that they may eventually release in the US. Not sure if or when the R series'll officially hit the states though. |
Then howcome companies like MotoRex say they need to import Skyline GT-R's into the states?
|
Because the R series skyline has not been released in the states. The R series is currently on hiatus in Japan so there is no R35 as of yet, just a concept vehicle. There is talk of the R35 coming to the US when it is finally put into production. The only skyline being produced is the new V series. In Japan it's the Nissan V35 but in the states it was released as the Infiniti G35. (incidentally the "35" in the V35 refers to the engine and not the fact that it comes after the R34) So when companies talk about having to import a GT-R they are referring to importing the highly coveted R series skyline not the current production V series. Anywho, hope this helps. :)
Edit: BTW here's a link for some info on the R35 Click Me Now!!!! Also a quick bit of rumored info on the new twin turbo 350Z :D *giggles like a school girl* Click Me Now!!! |
Kinda early seeing they recently introduced the Z Roadster. But I guess these things are close together or something.
|
Damn I hate hate hate HATE what they're doing to the Skyline... The new GT-R (at least by what I see from the so-called rumor pics) is basically a bigger 350Z, and it's lost all the beauty and enchantment of the R32-R34 :( What gets me even more pissed is the fact that the current president of Nissan is Brazilian. Yarr
|
Uhmm.... correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't the new skyline known as the Infiniti G35 Coupe?
6cyl, AWD, R35... G35... Sound familiar??? EDIT: DERP!!! ShadowMage posted something about this... just didn't see it. But personally, I don't think the new look of the R35 is that bad. Just get all of that blue stuff painted silver like the rest of the car and it might look decent. Blue on silver??? It's not even metalic blue! What were they thinking??? |
:shakes head in disgust:
IMO that is one ugly car. reminds me of the new Cadillac. forgot what its called though. |
