MicroSizers Pro - 5 questions

Ok, I just wanted to ask a few questions related to a MicroSizer. My model is the Pro one with 2 speeds, in case it makes any difference. What I'd like to know is:

1. Is it really THAT bad to use rechargable batteries in the controller? I still haven't tried it, but I don't see any reasons why it should be forbidden...

2. I've been running my car on the carpet for some time, and so far I haven't seen any fibers clog up in the axles (axis?) or anything... I guess my carpet is so old that there's no more loose fibers on it :D Is this (hair an fiber clogging) the only problem related to carpet running, or is there something else that might cripple my car in the long run?

3. Does "pigtailing" the antena detract from the maximum range?

4. Has anyone ever lowered a Nissan Skyline GT-R from this series (MicroSizer Pro)? I was thinking about lowering mine, but I'm not sure if there's enough space between the chassis and the body at some points. If anyone has already done this, please tell me the method you used and how many milimeters you lowered (pics would help :D ).

5. My Skyline's rear wing keeps getting thrown off whenever I hit something a little harder. Is it OK to glue it to the body, or would I regret this later?

Sorry for so many questions :) Thanks for taking your time to read this! ;)

1. I use rechargables, apart from higher juice being sent to the car battery rechargables have lower voltage vs. Alkalines which affects the range...But not by much.

2. If you have no problems running on carpet, go ahead. It's generally a bad idea because of extremely fast build-up of 'gunk', but if it's not a problem for you then you're good to go.

3. I haven't noticed any decrease with my cars that have pigtailing

4. Not I

5. I have the blue and white skylines and they do the same thing. If you're worried about gluing, then I suggest using a glue that's not so 'super'...Like Elmers.

Good luck

yah you'll regret it. A friend of mine has broken 3 skyline spoilers so far. Use namuna's suggestion of white glue or something not permanent.

Thanks for the answers!

Anyone knows about number 4? :D Sorry for being persistent  :bdrop: :bdrop:

Yeah, you can lower it. Mine is the thickness of 2 tabs lower in the front and one tab in the back.

Thanks a lot! By the way that's a very nice painting you have on your Skyline... Did you paint it with an airbrush? The only thing I disliked about your car is the lack of the rear spoiler :) Anyway thanks for the info.

hue, that is a rightious looking car. I'm tired of seeing the same old skyline gtr. It seems like that's all they sell sometimes. I like that look. It's breethes life back into the.....same.....old.....shell. Lookin to sell it?

hue35 10-03-2003 12:56 PM

Thanks boho. Yeah, I didn't like that Skyline body much until I took the wing off and lowered it quite a bit, now I really dig it. Sorry, I'm not looking to sell it. Both of the colors I used are stock Boyd's Model Master colors though... paint one up.
