Tires?????

Ok guys, I need some help. I recently did the internal dual-cell mod and Micro_amps FET mod and now my bit has 0 traction. I have one set of super soft compound tires and they work awsome and I am trying to find where I can buy them. They came on my Hobbico Microsizer pro (which is a Tomy import in the USA) which I bought from tower hobbies. So i bought the tire set from them (Part # HCAC1312). None of these three sets of tires is near as soft of a compound and are basicaly a waste of money in my book. Now im pretty shure they are the same from tomy the S-02 tire set so i dont want to buy them and get the same thing. Dose anyone have an insight to a really soft stickey set of tires for a Tomy bit? If so please post a link. Thanks...

why not make your own tires? its real easy: you just need a pen(pilot G2 gel) or pencil grip and cut them with scissors. the tires have sticky and soft feel to them, so you get the best combo of tires.

Won't the center lip keep the rubber fron seating on the wheel corectly?

unless u did a wheel mod(which i strongly suggest), it wont work. youd have to grind down the center lip so it would be flat. i can give you a link for a wheel mod if you want. but you need wheels first. i can show u where to get those too.

Thanks. Was there a link for the mod or is it just replacing existing wheels with the new ones from the store?

SkyLiNEz 4-eva! 08-13-2003 01:30 AM

just replace them with existing ones. umm...i thought the link took you straight to the product, but apparently not. the tires on those are REAL soft. but i can get u help with the mod itself:

http://www.rcmod.com/mod_pen_tires.html

for the tires and for the wheels:

http://www.rcmod.com/RCmod_fullsize.htm

it says fullsize wheels, but you do the same for the normal ones.

no prob, man. just ask 4 me when u need help. also, tell me how the new tires work out. i also gots to give props to RCmod.com for all their help. without them, you'd be screwed and so would i, cause we'd have no explanation on how to do mods.

Yea I hear that. I gotta be the only guy in AZ that messes with these things cause the only help I get is from this BB and Micro_amps. Thanks to everyone for helping the little guy!

I tried some foam tires made from an ergonomic pen grip. They were the stickiest things I've ever seen. The grip was great. Give some foam a try too. It's a little bit tougher to cut, but you can always sand down the rough parts.
