whats the difference between the lxx AM ex and the AM type-R?

In what ways are this car
http://www.toyeast.com/proddetail2.asp?pdtid=AC3022
and this car
http://www.toyeast.com/proddetail2.asp?pdtid=ALXXR02
I heard the type-R is the newer version. I read here that the first speed of the ex model is really slow. Did the type-R car fix this problem? Will the type-R car be slower than a bit char-g booster with the same motor?

I'm pretty sure the type R is the newer one. As far as differences, I'm stumped too. Although, the type R does say double QC passed. I'm not sure what that is though. Is it quality control? Anybody know?

ya it goes through two inspectors before shipping out. so you are less likely to get a dud.

ok, so type-R is better. Thanks
