Why the feud?
 

Okay, here's my burning question: why the long standing feud between this forum and the M i c r o R C center? My understanding is that at one time everything was kosher. Seems like such a travesty to have such hatred between these two great sites. Would love to hear the details and hopeful resolution of this.

As far as I know it had something to do with estores and links. One site blocked links to the other, who started it, I dunno and really don't care anymore.

A long time ago, some mods over there got tired of the way members were treated. They left and some of them ended up over here. That made them traitors and this site off limits. It has snowballed from there. I notice you are a mod over there now. What do you think of the heavy handedness of the way your members are treated over there? Especially young children who make simple mistakes. Of course, you must watch your reply as there is a good chance that the nazis over there will see it. This implies that you can't really speek your mind on the matter. I've spoken with you before in the context of the yahoo zipzaps group and know you to be a good fellow. But, in order to keep your job over there you too will have to adopt these practices. Sometime in the future, you will have to weigh your conscience against continuing to mod just like so many before you. Good luck with that one.

My intention in originally asking this question was in hopes of finding out from both sides what really happened and how deep the chasm really is to cross. I think that it is terribly unfortunate that there is such a disagreement between these two great forums. It would be great to see that relationship repaired in some way.

I also noticed that you were a member of the other forum for a little while but apparently something didn't settle well with you. Perhaps it was the "heavy handedness" that you spoke about that apparently doesn't take place here. It seems to have left a bad enough taste in your mouth that you are willing to freely dole out a comment like "nazis". I would prefer not to be lumped into a group of people that killed a countless number of human beings simply because of their race.

The ultimate losers in this whole war are the members of both forums. As stated before, I was simply trying to find out particulars

Nice try with the link madscott. Obviously you don't know about pakiplaya aka omarjamil aka many many more incarnations. That kid was rude, annoying and running scams. The difference between the sites is that people get treated the way they deserve here. I'm dying to know what reasons for the "fued" you've gotten from mrcc.

Let's put a little sense to this.

First off, TRC and MRCC are now competing sites. Back in the good ole days, neither site had a shop so Forum Traffic had no relevance. Hence things were chipper between sites and cross posting was a no-big-thing. Nowadays, being on the Net costs money and Site Traffic is key to survival. Sooner of later a rift would've occured anyway.

I will not speak to how people are treated on other Forums, but here at TRC you've got be a pretty solid nuisance to get the boot. The background on the link you posted is that person though warned numerous times about being a nuisance (spamming the boards, begging for free stuff, multi-posting the same questions, etc...), and when his account was finally banned he created other accounts just to come back and start the whole thing over again (he did this no less than 4 times).

The bottom line though is it's all pretty much irrelevent (from my point of view anyway). Be a member of MRCC, be a member of TRC, visit only one site or hang out in both places, it makes no difference to me...EVERYONE is welcome here.

I was a member there for 3 whole days. A couple of personal emails to the owner pretty much decided my leaving for me.
The use of the word Nazi was meant as the more modern usage refering to a fascist attitude. It had nothing to do with semetic genocide.
The post you indicated is no where near what this discussion is about. But, if you need a referance, perhaps you could tell me how many times a mod lowered a members post count to zero on this forum.
And lastly, if you want a real comparison of the difference between these two forums, start this thread over there just as you did here and compare how it is handled. Go ahead, I'll wait.

First off, let me restate that I'm not trying to stir the pot here. I started this thread before I had any inclination of being asked to become a moderator at MRCC. I have and still do thoroughly enjoy this as well as many other microrc sites. The community as a whole is great.

Namuna and Sessiz, I understand and appreciate the background that you provided in regards to the thread that I linked. I also thank you for the background on the history between the two sites Namuna, I'm sure that you were there from the get go. You are absolutely right, when $s become involved in the equation, all rules go out the window. Enough said. I've been told a very similar story from the other side.

As for a perception of heavy handedness, this does not seem like the proper arena to discuss the topic. If anyone would like to, my personal email can be obtained in my profile.

Azimov, again this thread was not started as a "which site is better" debate. You don't enjoy the other site and you've found safe harbor here. Great. You are certainly entitled to your opinions and I'm not here to change them, I simply was asking for answers. That being said, don't lump me into a group that is based on your perceptions that everyone over there has a fascist, nazi attitude. Instead, I would prefer to be judged on my own merits and the merits of my work.

Azimov, calm down! Haven't you once said that it is weird that first somebody says that on site A, site B is nasty, and vice versa? Now aren't you doing something just as bad?

I think all sites could use improvement....people on their site are treating each other bad, but don't similar things happen on this site sometimes? Come on, show a little mercy. You will never get to know anyone if you judge them for little things......I apologize since I'd broken this rule before. when somebody put me down , I tried to see their POV and I forgave them, and they are okay to this date! Show a little compassion, it can never hurt you.

I don't think so. I'm stating the facts as they are. Something you can't do over there. If the facts change, so will my reporting of them.

No, not in the same way I am discussing here. No one has ever had their post count reduced to zero here. No one has ever been told to leave for making a simple mistake. Posts are not deleted because the admin. disagrees with them or doesn't want them read. You won't get your pics deleted because they are the wrong size. Saying this site treats it's members the same as the other is an unfounded argument and has no basis in fact.

I'm not judging any one. I'm stating the facts as they stand concerning how the forum is managed. And, whether these are little things or not is a matter of opinion. I'm sure some of those that where "disciplined" over there feel differently about how little the effects were to them.

This is EXACTLY what I'm talking about. The other forum does not do this. This one does. It is the crux of the argument.

..ok.....you have a lot of points...I guess I will stick to this site...and RCmod is also a great site for buying mods, reading on how to to do them, and for their trading service I guess it's cool to know that thanks to them you won't get scammed......Oh well......

Can you find proof of this???? The post count thing, being told to leave for a mistake, etc.

You have to really look for the evidence on the other site. It's hard to find sometimes as it is usually deleted if a member makes a fuss about it. The general discussion area is a good place to start. There are still bits of clues that remain here and there. One member asked about member status and how it relates to post count. Another member noticed that the poster's status did not match his post count and asked why. A mod told him it was because the member's post count had been reduced. There is also a rule in their guidlines that states very clearly that if you post to many one liners or double post, your post count will be reduced. I gave an example of a member being told to participate elsewhere already. You browse over there more than I do. I'm amazed you haven't seen examples of what I'm saying yourself already.
