Since my RX-8 died today *sniff* My dad will buy a new one for me at Rat Shack. I'm trying to decide what to get. What do ya'll think?

isk8blind 06-26-2003 09:45 PM

get the 350z or the gold civic or the gold/brown 2fast 2furious car

flatlander_14 06-26-2003 09:48 PM

DONT get the gold civic or black mustang!

they have older pcbs. if you dont know what im talking about then trust me on this and get either the 350z, or one of the 2f2f cars. they come with the newer and FASTER gen3 pcb.

faulkbeets 06-26-2003 09:51 PM

isk8blind isnt the gold/brown car u talking bout the supra....anyways i went with 350z

isk8blind 06-26-2003 09:55 PM

I'd say go for the 49mhz 350z. Like the other's said it's got the newest pcb and a little faster motor. I just got the 27mhz 350z last week and I love it. I have personally found however that my 49 mhz has much better range than my 27mhz and I've heard from others here that have said the same thing. Definately go for the 350Z!!!;)

charliebrown 06-27-2003 12:00 AM

You guys are half right. The 350Z has good range and a fair pcb to handle the new motors, but I think the Mazda RX-7 starter kit it the coolest. It has a nice range. Go for this hot car!!!!! (Please don't mix up the RX-7 and RX-8)

eclipse98, I see you have become a TinyRC pro. Kudos (as they say) on becoming this rank. Remember, Once anyone has made at least 20 posts, they automatically become a pro. Once you reach this rank you can change your title. I'm sure everyone already knows this, but I thought I'd go into detail for the newbies.

dun buy now and wait for the new gen zip

airline2 06-27-2003 06:33 AM

The gold civic will work with all the motors.

CheeseWarfare 06-27-2003 09:05 AM

I think Ill go for the 350Z but not for the body (Pff Import) just for the chassis and my freind gave me a PT Crusier Body and Ill put that on it. And maybe sometime I'll get the Muscle car Upgrade Pack. Thanks for the tips guys! :D

ive learned one thing and that is dont give advice until you know the facts, or at least let them know you are not 100% sure. the gold civics have an older pcb, and yes they will work with all the motors, but they still dont deliver as much current as the newer ones(350z, some rx8s, and the 2f2f cars) so it still accellerates slow and has a lower top speed.

where did you hear this? there has been nothing posted as far as i know about new zips coming out.

my black mustang cobra with the 2nd gen pcb gives out a ton of current, too much for my ratshack brand multimeter to read (limit of 200ma) and is great. maybe i got one from a good batch. bought a champagne civic a little later, it sucked cuz the pcb gave out 75ma and kept the voltage to 1.2 votls even if i dual/tri cell it. then i gave it an ms sport pcb and same thign happened. the thing barely moves and i need to tap it. coudl be from teh reject batch. saw a TON of solder on one of the motor contacts tab that connects to a wire from teh pcb. i might try to get rid of all taht solder, it might be acting as a resistor or soemthing. go for the 49mhz 350z, range sucks on 27 mhz cuz of interference
